Tang Monk and His Disciples Fight Spider Demons (IV))

Pilan Po asked, "How do you know I can subdue him?" Wukong laughed, "Lady Li Shan told me." Pilan Po said, "In that case, I'll accompany you." Wukong bowed, "Thank you! Do you have any weapons I can carry?"

Pilan Po laughed, "No weapons needed, just a sewing needle." Wukong was skeptical, "A sewing needle?" Pilan Po calmly took a needle from her hair, showed it, and said, "This needle is neither gold nor silver, neither copper nor iron. It's refined from my son, the Rooster Star God's eye." Wukong nodded in wonder.

Wukong returned to Huanghua Temple with Pilan Po, where the Multi-Eyed Monster was still taunting. Pilan Po shouted, "Fiend, reveal your true form!" She tossed the needle into the air, and it struck the monster's back, pinning him to the ground. Wukong rushed over and saw it was a giant centipede over ten feet long.

Wukong raised his staff to strike, but Pilan Po stopped him, "Great Sage, I need a gatekeeper. Let me take it." Wukong lowered his staff, "Fine, but keep it from harming others!" Pilan Po laughed, "Of course. Here are three antidote pills for your master and brothers."

Wukong took the pills, fed one to Tang Monk, and another to Bajie and Sha Monk. Soon, they revived. Wukong rejoiced and thanked Pilan Po, "Thank you for saving us!" Pilan Po smiled, wrapped the Multi-Eyed Monster in a cloth, and returned to Purple Cloud Mountain.

Tang Monk bowed in gratitude. Bajie asked, "Brother Monkey, who was that deity?" Wukong said, "Pilan Po." Bajie asked, "How could she subdue that fierce demon?" Wukong laughed, "You fool! Her son, the Rooster Star God, is a great rooster. She's an old hen, of course, she can catch bugs!"

Tang Monk scolded, "Wukong, don't speak nonsense! Pack up and let's go!" Wukong laughed, helped Tang Monk onto the white horse, and the four continued their journey westward.
