After speaking, the Old Lord threw the weapon from the South Heaven Gate. It fell swiftly and struck the Monkey King on the head in the Flower Fruit Mountain camp. The Monkey King, engrossed in his fierce battle with the Seven Sages, did not notice the weapon falling from the sky. It hit his head, causing him to lose his footing and fall. As he tried to get up and run, Erlang Shen's hunting dog bit him on the leg, causing him to fall again. Lying on the ground, he cursed, "You wretched dog! Instead of guarding your master, you come to bite me!" He tried to get up but couldn't. The Seven Sages surrounded and tied him up with ropes, piercing his shoulder blades with hooks, preventing him from transforming.

The Old Lord retrieved the Diamond Snare and invited the Jade Emperor, Guanyin, the Queen Mother, and other celestial beings back to the Hall of Divine Mist. Meanwhile, the Four Heavenly Kings and Li Tianwang, along with other gods, withdrew their troops and dismantled their camps. They approached Erlang Shen to congratulate him, saying, "This victory is due to the Little Sage's efforts!" Erlang Shen replied, "It is due to the great fortune of the Heavenly Lord and the power of the celestial beings. I have no merit to claim." Kang, Zhang, Yao, and Li said, "Brother, let's escort this demon to the heavens to see the Jade Emperor and await his judgment." Erlang Shen said, "Brothers, you have not received the celestial decree and cannot see the Jade Emperor. Let the heavenly soldiers escort him. I will return to the heavens with Tianwang and others to report. You stay here to search the mountain thoroughly. Once the task is complete, return to Guanjiangkou. I will seek rewards and return to celebrate together." The four commanders and two generals agreed. Erlang Shen and the others then rode the clouds, singing victory songs, and returned to the heavens. Soon, they arrived outside the Hall of Universal Brightness. The Heavenly Master reported, "The Four Heavenly Kings and others have captured the monkey demon, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and are here to receive your command."
